Everyone is talking about the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, including the President himself. And Newt Gingrich is talking about the President talking about Trayvon, calling the comments “disgraceful.” But, I’m getting off the point, which is the Florida law called “stand your ground.”
And there’s already too much political news out there for me to weigh in politically from either the left or right, but I found the view below from a former cop enlightening. He talks about the law from the perspective of both someone who’s actually read the law — are you listening, all you ignorant news anchors? — and who’s been behind the thin protection of a bullet proof vest in one of America’s most dangerous cities.
Here’s his take.
