My second book, Sold Out, is now officially published

The new book is out.

Here’s the book description:

Nick Woods is one of our country’s greatest snipers. A Marine who’s done some top secret work, he just wants to live in peace with his wife.

But Nick’s about to get caught in a grand conspiracy between a senior investigative reporter, who’s about to publish a big story he’s been chasing for years, and a shadowy, CIA force that breaks the law and kills at will in its relentless pursuit to defend America against all enemies — foreign and domestic.

Sold Out is an epic story that shows what happens when free speech slams into the messy realities of national security. Blood flows early and often in this story that will keep you riveted until the very end.

Author Stan R. Mitchell, whose first book (Little Man, and the Dixon County War) climbed as high as No. 16 on the Amazon UK Paid List, writes a tight thriller that should delight those who loved the Jason Bourne movies, as well as fans of authors Tom Clancy and Stephen Hunter.

Mitchell often says, “I write books chock-full of shooting and stabbing. Description? Not so much.”

In his second offering to his growing fans, he chases down this theme with a ruthless efficiency.

Major props, as always, to my wife Danah. She’s given tons of support and encouragement, as well as shared me with one of my other loves on those nights I stay up too late at the computer.

And that awesome cover? Oh, that’s all her, too.

The book is available for immediate sampling and sale in multiple ebook formats, readable on virtually any ebook reading device from here.

P.S. Please accept the greatest gift I can give.

P.P.S. Thanks to all who continue to make my novel Little Man, and the Dixon County War a huge success! It’s gone as high as No. 16 on the Amazon UK Paid List (see here and here), landing smack dab between a Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey book. Learn more about it here.

  1. You had me at the Bourne series! Sunds like you could get it into a movie then too. I will recommend this to my MIL. This one seems right up her alley. Congrats on another one under your belt so to speak. How does it feel? Gratifying? A weight lifted? I’m curious. So excited for you!

    1. It feels like a huge relief, and helps affirm in my mind that the first one wasn’t luck — we all have those doubts late at night, right?

My next one — the third book I’ll publish — is military, as well. And it’s already 3/4 of the way done.

I think long-term, my first book — the Western, will be seen as an aberration. I’m really more of a military/action & adventure type writer.
