Danah and I watched “The Dark Knight Rises” last night. This is the third and final Batman movie of director Christopher Nolan‘s “Dark Knight Trilogy.”
I’m not a fan of superheroes and didn’t read comics as a kid. I didn’t see the recent movie The Avengers, and believe me, I hate Spiderman and Superman and all the other BS creations.
But I went to see “The Dark Knight Rises” because a friend asked us to go, and because Danah loves everything about Batman. (Has since she was a kid.)
I wasn’t expecting much, but the movie blew me away.
I loved the bad character, an evil terrorist named Bane. I loved how internally tortured Batman ends up.
And I loved, loved, loved the numerous surprises you never see coming.
I can’t say much about the movie without spoiling it for a lot of others, but I will say this is one of the best movies I’ve seen in years.
And it went miles and miles toward further motivating me as a storyteller. The movie is just so ambitious and it’s so entertaining and enthralling.
It’s a must see. (Love to hear what everyone else thinks if you see it. Drop me a comment, but try not to include any spoilers in it — or put a massive SPOILER ALERT in CAPS above your comment if you do.)

P.P.S. Thanks to all who continue to make my novel Little Man, and the Dixon County War a huge success! It’s gone as high as No. 16 on the Amazon UK Paid List (see here and here), landing smack dab between a Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey book. And don’t forget to check out Sold Out if you’re interested. It’s already gone as high as No. 81 on the Amazon Paid List for the category of War. (Link to be uploaded soon.) You can learn more about both books here.
