I’ve been working a lot on editing and formatting the past two weeks, getting “Sold Out” ready for print.
But I don’t really enjoy the editing and formatting part, so tonight Danah let me head out to a local burger joint/bar to get some writing in. The food tasted fine, but the environment rocked.
Great music played in the background. I saw plenty of dudes who’d make good characters. They ranged from beasts to dorks to old men over the hill. And I saw some chicks who were working it. Some flirting. Some strutting. Some who looked out of place and as hungry for attention as the old men over the hill.
I love to write freehand — you know, paper and pen like the old days — so after gorging down on my burger and fries, I yanked my pad out and waited for the muse. The muse came and I wrote a good three hundred words.
Not a huge word count, but these words and sentences burned with energy and I left the bar on Cloud Nine a couple hours later. The scene I was writing about involved a biker bar, so being in such a similar environment really seemed to help. Maybe I can convince Danah to let me travel for all my scenes… : )
Anyway, I should wrap up and get back to some editing, but I wanted to thank everyone again for all each of you have done. From buying my books, to writing reviews, to telling your friends, I’m so excited to be living my dream.
And I’ve noticed on my Facebook Page that some of you are from the UK, where my Western novel Little Man, and the Dixon County War has been selling great. (And one of you are from India. Wow!)
First, thanks a million for (I’m assuming) buying my work and tracking me down. Second, if one of you all would drop a review on the Amazon UK site, I’d love you forever. (Still batting zero on reviews on the UK site, but apparently the word of mouth is working pretty well on its own.)
Again, thanks everyone (both locally and from all the other places) for all the love! You guys are helping make the impossible, possible.

P.S. Please accept the greatest gift I can give.
P.P.S. Thanks to all who continue to make my novels a success. I seriously couldn’t have done it with everyone’s support. I’m excited to say that Little Man, and the Dixon County War has gone as high as No. 16 on the Amazon UK Paid List (see here and here). My second novel, Sold Out, has also done well, going as high as No. 81 on the Amazon Paid List for the category of War (see here and here). Learn more about both books here.
