I dunno about that, Stan. The “Old Guy” spent a lot of time dragging himself down, using that as a platform to tell the boys that they had to struggle to gain an inch. All that may be true, but I think a motivational speech would do better letting the team know that the guy has faith in them and less time feeling sorry for himself.
