Wow. Can’t say I know much about the Marine Corps band, but it makes my day to see that they’re just as cocky and good as we ground pounders in the infantry were.
Check out this friendly competition they had with the Republic of Korea (ROK) Army Band. #Swagger #Badasses
Can you believe that? Them boys were cocky. I still can’t believe they went up and used the other dudes drums, or got up in their faces like that!
And the Marines’s actions weren’t perfect, so I’ll bet they ad-libbed it. Definitely not a practiced or rehearsed maneuver.
Keep the faith,

P.S. Yes, I know this is actually the III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) band, and not the United States Marine Band, but their correct title hardly works in a headline, so please kindly withhold any cute comments of such a nature.
Improvise, adapt, overcome. Hell, even our musicians do it. SF.

Not sure if it’s still true, but the FMF (and Base) bands used to be all volunteer. The folks did their regular jobs all day, band stuff in their off-duty hours.
This was always more impressive to me than the pros over at 8th and I.
These boys were kicking ass and taking names!
