Stan Mitchell

Mitchell served four years on active duty in the Marine Corps, spending his time in the infantry. Here, he’s pictured in the Mojave Desert in 1997. Mitchell earned a Combat Action Ribbon in Albania in 1997.

Mitchell has sold more than 70,000 books since his career took-off in 2012. To date, he’s published nine books.

A former newspaper journalist, Mitchell honed the skill of stuffing lengthy stories into small sections of newsprint. He crafted gripping articles, establishing a loyal, local readership. With his skillset, fans say his books read like movies, and even people who rarely read usually find themselves captivated by his swift style.

Prior to his decade-plus in the journalism business, Mitchell spent four years in 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. He devoured nearly every action book out there — hey, he spent a lot of time playing hurry up and wait in the cargo holds of too many ships and planes to count.

Additionally, he also earned a Combat Action Ribbon.  (The details of his military career.)

Mitchell served in the infantry all four years of his active duty career, and then after 9/11 rejoined for two more years in the Reserves. One of the highlights of his military career was working with the highly-elite Marine Force Recon. His extensive military experience showcases his knowledge of warfare and the small-unit fights you read about in his books.

Readers won’t find inaccuracies like they find with so many other authors who have never had the privilege of serving. Mitchell has been there and done that. And his writing shows it. Give one a try here.
