So, you want to learn how to kick?

Let’s talk kicks a second. (Hey, you’re sick of all the politics being discussed, and football season isn’t upon us yet, so what better, right?)

First of all, you never know when you’ll need a good killer kick. Like, say, when an idiot has a machete and is running around and stabbing people like this maniac. (Warning: the story and video is a bit graphic.)

In the link above, you’ll see an awesome kick that literally knocks a guy off his feet.

So, let’s face it. You want to kick like that, right? (Bonus: Chicks dig guys who can kick.)

Well, you’re in luck. Ask and you shall receive, right?

3 Essential Ingredients For Powerful Kicks.

And if you’ve never thrown a kick in your life, here’s a few basic ones to start off with:

Stan R. Mitchell

Oak Ridge, Tenn. P.S. Please accept the greatest gift I can give.

P.P.S. Thanks to all who continue to make my novel Little Man, and the Dixon County War a huge success! It’s gone as high as No. 16 on the Amazon UK Paid List (see here and here), landing smack dab between a Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey book. And don’t forget to check out Sold Out if you’re interested. It’s already gone as high as No. 81 on the Amazon Paid List for the category of War. (Link to be uploaded soon.) You can learn more about both books here.

Now this feat is no joke…

One of my fascinations in regards to martial arts is Shaolin Kung Fu. I’ve really been on a Shaolin kick for the past couple of years.

It’s a deep art that’s frustrating to learn — many of its moves are hidden — but which has a completely different outlook on life than we have here in the western world. It literally will change your life, reduce your stress, and help you find peace.

This morning, while trolling around on YouTube as I often do, I saw this pretty incredible video of a guy dodging throwing stars while staying balanced on a small platform. And as if dodging a throwing star aimed at your chest (while not moving laterally) isn’t hard enough, this guy managed to show supreme grace and calm during the entire feat.

Hope you enjoy.

Now this guy is fast

As my friends know, I’m fascinated with self defense and hand-to-hand training. It comes from my upbringing in a pretty-tough, inner city school. And since I graduated High School weighing 118 pounds and standing 5’5″ tall, it shouldn’t take much imagination to see how much bullying I had to put up with.

So at a young age — I think like 8 or 9 — I started taking martial arts and I’ve never stopped training, learning, practicing. Between the Marine Corps, a shelf full of books, and hundreds of hours of YouTube videos, I’ve seen about every move and style out there.

Frankly, fighting fascinates me. And I’m not impressed by many folks out there, but this guy, who I happened upon a couple days ago, impresses the shit out of me. I’d label him a bad mofo.
