The latest news on the Nick Woods series

Hey guys!

Hope everyone is doing well! Wanted to give you a quick update on the Nick Woods series. I’m nearly finished writing the next book, which would be the fourth in the series.

Nick and the members of Shield, Safeguard, and Shelter (S3) deploy to Nigeria to tangle with Boko Haram in the fourth installment of the series. (For those who don’t know about Boko Haram, the group “has killed 20,000 and displaced 2.3 million,” according to Wikipedia. You may know them best for all the young girls they’ve kidnapped, which even garnered the attention of our First Lady.)

The working title is “Nigerian Fire,” which should tie in fairly nicely with the titles “Afghan Storm” and “Mexican Heat.” Having said that, we’re still brainstorming, so if you have something better, please share it!!

Sold Out_CoverAnd for goodness’ sake, if you haven’t started the Nick Woods series, you seriously need to start here: “Sold Out.” Like, today.

Matter of fact, if you have any doubts about whether you’ll enjoy the story, you can click the image of the book cover at left and go to a really cool embedded preview of the book, where you can read an extended sample and adjust font size to make it easier to read.

As of the last time I checked, “Sold Out” has earned more than 320 reviews and spent most of its life in the Top 100 on Amazon, alongside the likes of Vince Flynn and Brad Thor. I know I’m biased, but I really think you’ll enjoy it and the rest of the series, if you’re a new subscriber and haven’t tried it.

That’s it from here! Can’t wait to get you the next book before too long. (And, no, I’m not saying when! lol. Have played that game once before, and I don’t intend to again!)

Keep the faith,

Stan R. Mitchell

Hey guys!

Hope everyone had a great week.

Things are looking up here on the job front, and my books have been selling phenomenally!!! Like, “I can’t believe it phenomenally.”

No, like, I’m saying they’re in the top half of Amazon’s Top 100 for Political Thrillers, with the likes of Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, and David Baldacci. (See here and here.)

So, life is great here. If you’re a regular commenter or member of Mitchell’s Militia, let me know how life is treating you, as well, down in the comments.

And below are my best tweets of the week! Hope they inform or inspire you some.

About me: I’m an action fiction author with books similar to Vince Flynn, Stephen Hunter, and Tom Clancy. I’m also a prior infantry Marine with Combat Action Ribbon, and a guy who spent 10+ years in the newspaper business. Please consider subscribing to my blog — I mostly post about things that either motivate you, inspire you, or make you laugh.

Some pretty big news, and a big thanks to my supporters

So, members of Mitchell’s Militia. I’m kind of on Cloud 9 right now and I felt like I had to share it since you guys are completely the reason for it — and for some reason are tagging along with me on this journey.

Just a bit ago, I was getting in some much needed relaxing, and doing some kung fu before planning to get back on editing “Mexican Heat.”

And I had stopped to check my sales for the day — I do this way too much — and noticed my sales had jumped up a bit today. Immediately, like all newbie authors, I decided to check Amazon to see how high my ranking had climbed.

Unbelievably, Sold Out was at the following in its two listed genres:

  • #78 in the Top 100 in the Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Mystery, Thriller & Suspense > Suspense > Political.
  • #89 in the Top 100 in the Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Political.

Can you believe that?! (Click this link here to see, if you look fast enough — they change hourly.)

I’m in the Top 100 of the same list that includes Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Tom Clancy, Nelson Demille, Scott Turow, and others.

And I’m somehow in that list with no marketing support, no nationwide distribution, no big shot editor, no major publishing house behind me.

Without question, the only reason I’m there is because of you guys, so I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for following me. Thanks for encouraging me. Thanks for telling folks about me.

I know I won’t stay in that list for long — I don’t have enough reviews, name recognition, etc.– but for right now, I’m about as pumped as a man can get!

Keep the faith,

P.S. If you enjoy fast-paced books, you just might like my works. “Sold Out” tracks the life of a legendary Marine Sniper after a CIA unit decides to kill him for reasons of national security. “Little Man, and the Dixon County War” tells the uphill fight a young deputy faces after surviving three years of war only to find himself in the sights of a mighty cattle baron. And “Soldier On,” a short novel, follows the lives of several German soldiers in a depleted infantry company trying to make it through the final, miserable months of World War II.
